How To Succeed In Golf

by Tony Castle

When you first take up the sport of golf, you will quickly discover that it is not an easy one. It has many ups and downs and requires a great deal of practice. This is the first thing that all new players learn. Because the sport involves so many different muscles it has often been compared to lifting weights. And your skill at hitting the ball will only be seen after many attempts. This is the initial step in golf for beginners

As in all sports, warming up before play is important in this sport, too. However, it should not be done during the first hits of the actual game, because they will probably be worse than what you can usually do. The warm-up can be done a couple of minutes prior to the actual game. This will help you be more relaxed and it will have a reflection on your hits.

Your hits are highly dependent on your swing. If it is too hard, you will miss the hit. It is best to control your swing in such a way that it would fit your body and always keep calm and still as this is very important.

If you try more to be a good player and see no immediate results, the next step would be to take some lessons, unless you have a very good friend that already did the lessons, and he/she can show you a few moves. But for a serious interest in this sport, real training is recommended.

The greatest mistake golf amateurs can do is buying expensive clubs and not knowing how to make use of them properly. One should, instead, get some cheap iron clubs and perhaps a couple of wooden ones. The classic set includes five iron clubs, two wooden and one putter.

When a person wants to learn more, the basic rules of this sport have to be learned first, and the first type of course that is recommended for use is a par-3 golf course. This is very good for driving or putting basic exercises.

When you become a little experienced, the 18 holes course is the next step in golf for beginners. The most important thing to learn as a beginner is how to swing correctly. And this is not the only thing, as swing goes hand in hand with stance and grip. This is definitely a very attractive sport and in time you will see that it is also very addictive.
