As we discussed over the weekend, I have been involved with archery for 30 years and bowhunting for 25 years and through those years I have had plenty of advise and instruction on shooting a bow, but all of those years could not total what I learned in Larry's Core Archery Academy this past weekend. I broke this experience down into three major areas, like I would any educational/instructional program and I wanted to share those with you: "Written materials: these were provided in an organized, easy to follow/understand and complemented with excellent pictures and graphics. These is a very important absorption aid as the basic fundamentals of the course can be revisited after leaving the course, and it allows you the opportunity to pay attention to Larry's and not worry about taking massive amount of notes. I rated this an Outstanding! "Instructor student interaction: This is the amount of time you actually get to spend with Larry one on one, and I have to say it was perfect. I think this is designed so well in his instruction, as you are with a group, engaged with your own individual goals, but you are allowed to partake in other's learning and apply those lessons to your own learning. Larry made himself available every time he was needed and a lot of time when you thought you were doing everything right and Larry would point out another very important aspect that would excel me to the next level. Larry is very approachable and his instruction method focuses on finding all the good in people and I really enjoyed that side of Larry. This again was an Outstanding and I have been through a lot of professional training programs over the years and I place this in my top 5! Larry's credentials speak for themselves. It was a joy to be in his company! "Instructional Facilities: This is a part of training that is often overlooked and be the most important in learning. I have to say Les, you and Gail have the most professional and accommodating Pro Shop/Shooting Facility I have every been in, and I have been in a lot of so call "bow stores" around the country over the past 25 years and have never been in such a knowledgeable, professional and customer focus facility as yours! I must think good things, as I drove from Chicago to purchase my last Matthews bow from Right-On-Target Family Archery and I am so happy that I did! Your Quality, Service, Selection and Pricing are the best I have found! I thought it was very helpful to have you and Gail available to make any equipment adjustments that Larry felt, or in many cases you and Gail felt were necessary to the students archery equipment. This is a must in a course like this and you are certainly equipped to take care of any repairs or changes that need to be made. ROTFA is well lit, spacious, comfortable and accommodating to everyone's needs! Again I have to give this an Outstanding rating!!! Thanks again for all of the personal attention you all bestowed to me last weekend, I will always cherish this experience and the results speak for themselves. If any of you make your way out of "God's Country" to Chicago, I would enjoy seeing you. Hopefully we can all do a hunt together some day!! Regards, Scott Keller |
